6. Job Board — Conscious Hotelier Appointments
Our job board is operated using the service provided by SmartJobBoard Inc, Reno, NV, USA. When hotels post positions or candidates interact with Conscious Hotelier Appointments, the following data is processed:
— Name and contact details of the posting hotel or candidate
— Application materials submitted through the platform
— Usage data relating to the job board
SmartJobBoard Inc acts as a data processor on our behalf. A data processing agreement is in place to ensure your data is protected in accordance with GDPR requirements.
Data transfer to the USA is based on standard contractual clauses pursuant to Article 46 GDPR, or — where applicable — the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We are currently verifying SmartJobBoard’s certification status and will update this section accordingly.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
7. Newsletter and Morning Espresso
With your consent, you may subscribe to our Morning Espresso newsletter, through which we share editorial content, job listings, and updates from the world of conscious luxury hospitality.
We use a double opt-in procedure: after you register, we send a confirmation email to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided. Your subscription is only activated upon confirmation.
We store your email address, the date and time of registration, and your confirmation for documentation purposes.
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by writing to privacy@conscioushotelier.com.
Our newsletter is sent via Beehiiv (Beehiiv Inc, USA). Beehiiv processes your email address and usage data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Data transfer to the USA is based on standard contractual clauses pursuant to Article 46 GDPR, in accordance with the data processing agreement concluded with Beehiiv.

8. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse how visitors use our website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We have enabled IP anonymisation on our website. Your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union before being transmitted to the USA.
Google Analytics is only activated with your prior consent via our cookie banner. You may withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie settings on our website.

9. Payment Processing
When you purchase services through Conscious Hotelier Appointments (e.g. job listing packages), payment is processed via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland).
Stripe processes your payment data — including card details — directly and securely. We do not store your complete payment data on our servers. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment processing purposes.

10. Social Media Links
Our website contains links to social media platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram. These are standard hyperlinks, not embedded plugins. When you click a link, your IP address is transmitted to the respective platform. If you are simultaneously logged into a social media account, that platform may collect additional data. We have no control over the data collected by these platforms. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for further information.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law. In particular:
— Contact enquiries: deleted once the matter is resolved, unless longer retention is required by law
— Newsletter subscriptions: retained for the duration of your subscription; anonymised statistics retained thereafter
— Commercial transaction data: retained for ten years in accordance with German commercial and tax law (Section 147 AO, Section 257 HGB)
— Job board candidate data: retained for the duration of the listing plus six months; thereafter deleted in accordance with applicable employment law

Our services are directed at professionals in the hospitality industry and are not intended for persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
